How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 12–24 months before their wedding, especially for peak spring and summer dates. If you've fallen in love with my films, I'd recommend getting in touch as soon as you've secured your venue. Occasionally I do have last-minute availability, so it's always worth asking.
How long are you with us on the wedding day?
I'll be there from the excitement of morning preparations right through to shortly after your first dance, capturing your day as it naturally unfolds. If you're planning something special later in the evening, additional coverage can be arranged.
We're awkward in front of the camera. Is that a problem?
Not at all—and honestly, most of my couples say exactly the same thing.
My approach is relaxed and documentary. Rather than directing you all day, I quietly capture genuine moments as they happen, with just a little guidance during your couple portraits so you can enjoy spending time together instead of feeling like you're on a photoshoot.
Can you work alongside our photographer?
Absolutely. Working seamlessly with photographers is a huge part of what I do. I always introduce myself before the day begins and work as a team to make sure we capture everything without getting in each other's way.
Do you use a drone?
Yes, whenever it's safe, legal and weather conditions allow. Drone footage is a beautiful way to showcase your venue and add cinematic context to your film, but your day will never rely on it.
When will we receive our wedding film?
Your teaser film will usually be delivered within 7 days so you have something to relive and share while the excitement is still fresh.
Your completed wedding films are typically delivered within 8–12 weeks, depending on the time of year.
How do we receive our films?
Your films are delivered through a beautiful online gallery where you can stream, download and easily share them with family and friends.
How do we secure our date?
A signed booking agreement and a £750 booking fee will secure your wedding date. The remaining balance is due six weeks before your wedding.
Do you travel?
Yes. Travel throughout Suffolk, Essex and the surrounding areas is included within my collection. If you're getting married further afield—or even abroad—I'd love to hear about your plans and can provide a bespoke travel quote.
Can we choose the music?
The music is carefully selected during editing to suit the emotion and story of your day. Because I use professionally licensed music, I can't use commercial chart songs, but I'll always choose tracks that complement your wedding beautifully.
What happens if you're ill?
In the extremely unlikely event that I'm unable to film your wedding due to serious illness or an emergency, I'll do everything I can to arrange a trusted professional videographer from my network to film your day. Your footage would then be edited by me in the Aaron Gates Films style wherever possible.
How do we book?
Simply head over to my Contact page and tell me a little about your wedding. I'll check my availability and, if I'm free, we'll arrange a relaxed chat to make sure we're the perfect fit.
What if it rains?
Some of the most emotional and cinematic wedding films I've created have been on rainy days. The weather becomes part of your story, and with a little flexibility, it can create some incredibly beautiful moments.
Do you stage moments?
Not unless I absolutely need to. My films are built around real emotion and genuine moments. Aside from a little guidance during portraits if needed, I prefer to let your day unfold naturally so that when you watch your film back, it feels exactly as you remember it.
